Job Description

  • He/She will be responsible for supporting Head of Finance in directing staff and managing the finance department. Setting up the accounting system, internal control processes, producing financial and management reports and developing strategies for treasury and fiscal (tax) functions.
  • Guiding CFO and senior executives in making sound commercial decisions in the long and short term.
Job Responsibilities
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the following:
Financial Reporting:
  • The Finance Manager performs regulatory compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management to report the financial condition and operating results of the Nigerian business(es).
  • Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, unaudited financial statements, and other stakeholder reports.
Accounting, Audit, and Internal Controls - Review, Oversight, and Improvements:
  • Full cycle accounting responsibility to ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports and oversees interim and year-end audit activities.
ERP Management and Asset Management System Updates:
  • Play crucial role in maintaining and implementing software updates for integrated reporting (budgeting, management, and financial) and improved efficiency and interconnection with Maximo, the plant asset management system.
Budgeting:
  • Coordinate with various teams, perform complex analyses and prepare reports to summarize financial data.
  • Prepare and interpret all operating results, CAPEX and OPEX utilizations, and budgets versus actuals and full year forecasts for monthly reporting
Taxation:
  • Support the Head, Finance with tax reporting requirements, tax audits, transfer pricing and other ad hoc tasks.
  • Coordinate the monthly tax returns for output VAT, reverse VAT, input VAT and WHT and assist the supervisor with preparing corporate tax computations.
Logistics Process:
  • Assist the team in managing the logistics process of imported equipment to ensure smooth interaction between the company, bank, vendors, clearing agents and consultants in accordance with statutory guidelines.
  • Reviews shipping documents to ascertain the completeness and accuracy of documents. Process SONCAP, NAFDAC, PAAR, Letters of credit, initiation and payment of customs and duty charges within the required timelines to avoid demurrage charges as much as possible.
Strategy Development:
  • Play a major role in tactical and strategic initiatives for the Company to carry out the financial policy decisions of the Company.
Business Process Modelling:
  • Development of a workflow using structural representation to visualize business processes and make positive changes for better decision-making for the Company.
  • Annual review and analysis of variation from financial model.
Treasury and Working Capital:
  • Support treasury function including foreign exchange management, hedging and certificates of capital importation (CCIs) management and reporting.
  • Assist in the management of cashflows, working capital and finances in accordance with project and finance documents.
Regulatory Management:
  • Review and assist in fulfilling the Company's monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory filings to NERC, FRC, CAC and FIRS in relation to tax, audit, and investor requirements.
  • Ensures that all company’s financial-related obligations to external stakeholders are met in full and discharged professionally to satisfy the Company’s long-term strategic plan.
Investor Relations:
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders including third-party advisers, consultants, and financial institutions to achieve the corporate goals of the Company during construction implementation and development of power generation projects, as needed, to support growth and expansion.
Job Requirements / Competencies
  • B.Sc in a relevant field with MSc preferred experience
  • More than 10 years’ experience covering project finance, commercial, public practice in accounting, advisory, taxation and consulting across different sectors of the economy with at least 3 years’ experience in a senior financial role.
  • Big 4 audit experience leading engagements covering assurance services, taxation, and advisory.
  • Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or equivalent
  • A Registered Professional of Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC)

  • Proven ability and capacity to operate successfully in a high pressure, fast-paced and multicultural environment and meet deadlines satisfactorily

Salary
N20,000,000 - N25,000,000 (Gross) Annually.
